HOW THE CLASSIC CONQUEST BEGAN...

Imtiaz is a self made man. Because of the results that he gave to his owners, he gradually attracted the big guns of the field. Quantity gave way to quality and Imtiaz is now patronised by the best horse owners in the country. His affable nature and his sincerity have ensured that the number of his admirers and well-wishers is growing by the day.

1989 was the easily the most exhilarating year in his career. He trained the wonder horse called Exhilaration in exemplary manner, getting the colt to perform at his best when it mattered the most. Easily one of the best thoroughbreds to have raced in Indian racing history, Exhilaration retired with eight unbeaten starts to his credit.

The twentyfive fruitful years that he has spent as a trainer have seen him win all the major races in the country. He has saddled well over 1000 winners and he has close to 50 Classic success. He has many firsts to his credit. Starting off his classic conquest with Carnival's victory in the Mysore Derby in 1980, the Bangalore boy who made it big in the highly competitive Mumbai, is set to scale new heights in the years to come.
