Faurties Floors the Opposition

Generally, colts and geldings perform well only after try-outs. But the case of Faurties is different. He does not raise a gallop during the morning session; still he manages to put up a spectacular show during the race. On Tuesday too, Faurites turned out to be the best speedster and lifted the Bolrace.Com Trophy at the Delhi races. Mumbai-based jockey S Sunil was the lone professional to notch up a creditable double in the card of seven races.

In the feature event, speedy Faurties (Ansbach-Mumbai Dancer) broke out early and made every post a winning one. Dancing Beauty (Flitch-Chalice), the youngest member of the field, made her presence felt finishing second ahead of Dream debut. The three year-old filly Dancing Beauty is the winner of Fillies Trial Stakes and will be able to earn laurel up to the mile. Game of Talent, who was alerted to the task for the fourth place a trifle late, is knocking at the door. Exotic Star once again dug a grave for the punters finishing off the board.

The day's first race saw The Big Blast beating the favourite Lagunillas. Running within the striking distance of El Salvador and Ashwa Prisha, the colt responded well on the urgings of Ranjeet Singh to shut the door on the late finishing Lagunillas. The latter, a full sister of speedy Zarin, has a lack of initial speed. Ashwa Prisha and El Salvador, who finished third and fourth respectively, should not hold the maiden status any longer.

Singh Is King, who couldn’t meet with success during the last two seasons, sprang a surprise in the upper division of the Bol Race Book Plate. The five year-old gelding should achieve an encore. Queen of Sun, who ran second, proved that her stride suits every distance. Zingaro, who came from rear, finished an impressive third. The lower division of the plate was at the mercy of Wind Storm (El Johar-Whirl Wind). Jockey Rajinder, who replaced K Narender Kumar, stretched the gelding en route to victory. He should complete an encore.

Soliatry Man (Flitch-Alto Miss) never allowed the stalling position (13) come his way while emerging victorious in the senior division of the Hotline Plate. Kings Power, who occupied the runner-up berth, should earn a bracket soon. Kohinoor Beauty (S Sunil astride) shed the maiden status in the lower division of the Plate. Trainer Magan Singh's decision of letting her run without any support of equipment bore fruit. Fearlessnegotiator, who played the second fiddle, found the distance a little sharper. Theodros, who finished third, may soon raise a winning gallop.

Assertive (Case Law-Reasoning) proved too good for Just Like a Woman in the day's concluding event, Best of Luck Plate over 1,600 m. AJ Nilesh’s strategy of getting in to action as soon as possible paid dividends. On the other hand, an out-of form favourite Just Like A Woman spent precious time to bridge the gap for the next best. Real Scotch, who came from the tail-end, finished third.
