Apprentice R.Umesh who was in his elements on the extra day's racing at Hyderabad rode Buddy Brothers to a thrilling victory in The Desert Horse Plate, a race for horses in the top most category. Buddy Brothers who runs best from the front shot into the lead with Arrow of Light and Raj Veer following in close attendance. Coming inside the final furlong, Raj Veer challenged the Buddy and surged ahead momentarily. Umesh rejuvenated himself and brought Buddy Brothers with a second run to snatch the race from Raj Veer at the wire in a thrilling finish.

The day started with Al Jameel scoring in a stunning upset. This was Umesh's first of his three wins. Ninja Power brought the field into view on the straight even as Al Jameel began to unleash a run in the centre of the track. Although he drifted out, Al Jameel managed to pass Ninja Power and went clear to win by three lengths. Zorbonaut finished third.

The third victory for Umesh was on the well supported Hari Har Priya in The Man of The Match Plate. Cygnet was the first to enter the home stretch with Hari Har Priya close on his heals. Approaching the distance post Hari Har Priya sailed smoothly to go ahead and win the race without having to shed a drop of sweat. Cygnet finished second while the rest were way behind. This was trainer Zoheb Shaikh's double, having won the opening race earlier in the day.

The Mountain Lilly Plate produced another thrilling finish. Shes Got The Look held on by the shortest of margin from Cherokee Fighter who was rather unlucky to have lost the race. Cherokee Fighter, Spectacular Hero, World Wide and Shes Got The Look were all in a line in that order from the inner rails, at 400 meters from home. Spectacular Hero began to weaken as World Wide and Shes Got The Look picked up speed. Cherokee Fighter who was along the rails suddenly felt strangulated for space and lost his stride. Jockey D.Singh pulled the fighter out of the mess and came up with a spirited challenge only to miss the wire by a short head.

Jockey R.Lakshmikanth who replaced the indisposed Shaikh Farookh on Venturous in the lower division of The Gulmohar Plate made best use of his chance mount by winning the race. Available at longer odds, Venturous went clear and won comfortably from Super Brand who was throughout in futile chase. Dark Desire and Drum Dance filled the frame. Royal Guard was withdrawn after he refused to move into the gates.

Trainer M.V.Narayan Rao who has been in rousing form in the last couple of weeks maintained his winning streak, scoring a brace. One in All who was well supported in the higher division of The Gulmohar Plate justified the favouritism. Suraj Narredu had to ride out on the odds on favourite to get the better of Red Carpet on the straight. Habituated led the field till the final furlong before conceding, to finish third. R.Lakshmikanth replaced Shaikh Farookh on Red Carpet.

The second win for Rao came on Kohinoor Star in the concluding race. Having finished second to his stable mate just two days ago, Kohinoor Star left the field cold. Kohinoor Star began to make his move from 600 meters and took the turn around six away from the rails and sped past Just Be Cool to score an encore. Encounter was withdrawn after he refused to get loaded.

Apprentice R.Umesh's treble and Narayan Rao's double was the highlights of the day.
