L.D’Silva & Harish Are Declared Champs

Maximise won The Deccan Chronicle Gold Cup, the feature of the day’s racing in style. Suraj Naredu was quick to settle his mount and set his own pace in the 2400 metres trip. Bold Blast was fighting for his head in second position while Blast in Class and Shakin Stevens followed in procession. On the home stretch Maximise extended his lead while Bold Blast travelled all over the track under pressure.

Cefiro sprang a surprise in The Nawab Arshad Ali Khan Memorial Trophy. A.Ramana who partnered Cefiro completed riding 40 winners in his career. Dorabella was expected to put in a good performance after her appearance in The Fillies Trial Stakes but disappointed her supporters finishing third. Global Presence tried to make a race of it on the straight but Cefiro galloped strongly to win comfortably.
 
Shehzad Abbas trained Strategic Partner justified the favouritism winning The Dundoo Ekamber Memorial Trophy. In a small field of five runners, Strategic Partner made every post a winning one setting her own pace in the 2200 metres trip. Meticulous chased the leader throughout and finished second.
 
Laxman Singh, D. Singh combination claimed The Wandering Star Plate on Fearless Flame. Having missed the winning berth on his previous run by the shortest of margin, Fearless Flame made amends to win comfortably. Chasing Fearless Flame on the straight, Grand Act was heavily under the stick and finished fourth. Torrestrella and Title Shot finished second and third respectively. Torrestrella who covered a lot of ground in the final stages should be noted over an extended trip.
 
The Look of Eagles Plate produced a close finish between Alukkhas and Green Vision. Alukkhas jumped out smartly and led throughout the 1200 metres trip to finally hold on from Green Vision who came up with a flourish towards the closing stages. A. Ramana who rode Alukkhas to victory had become a full jockey in the opening race of the day and was allowed to claim an allowance for the rest of the day as per the rules of racing. Ramana profited by this rule as he managed to win by a short margin. Bakersfield and China Pearl filled the frame.
 
The Champ, Harish rode a confident race on Cannon Vision in the concluding race of the day. After jumping out smartly, Cannon Vision let Romantic Flyer and Aurumn Gold go to the front and settled well in third position. On entering the straight Harish shifted gears on Cannon Vision and won toying with the opposition. Top Gear finished second while Time Square moved to the third place.
