Chicagoans are enjoying great weather as summer in America is reaching its waning days. Monday is Labor Day when the three-day weekend provides the final opportunity for outdoor get-togethers and barbecue parties. School vacations end and children are ready to go back to school. That overdue long road trip is finally taken. The weather breaks and the evening air prompts you to find the wind breaker (jacket) in your closet.

As a transplanted Indian horse racing fan living in Chicago, this Labor Day has become very special. There is a horse from India who will race at Arlington Park in suburban Chicago on Labor Day. His name is Holding Court.

Trainer S Padmanabhan has been in the Windy City (Chicago's nickname) for a week and has been overseeing Holding Court's preparation. The Arlington Park publicity staff and the racing office crew are going to extraordinary lengths to promote this history-making event. Holding Court has drawn post position 1 in the seven horse field. It is a race over 1900 metres on the grass. E T Baird, an in-form local jockey, will be aboard the Indian star.

Holding Court is in the sixth race. It will be run at 3:24 PM Chicago time on Monday. The name of the race is the 'Rossi Gold' stakes. It will be 1:54 AM on Tuesday in India.
