The Gr 3 Usha Stud Million day has always been characterized by heavy rain. Two years ago, when Mystical won this event, the rest of the race programme was cancelled due to heavy rains. This year too, rain has chased the event, causing it to be postponed for Monday.

On Wednesday night, there was heavy rain in Bangalore and the track had taken a heavy pounding. However, bright sunshine over the next two days ensured that the track was good enough to hold races on Saturday. It began to rain at the conclusion of races on Saturday evening and it poured for more than four hours, rendering the race track soggy and unsuitable for racing. The Stewards wisely decided to postpone the races quite early on Sunday instead of waiting
till the last minute to arrive at their decision. The same card will hold good for Monday.

The morning track work has been rescheduled. The track will now be open from 2 p.m. onwards on Sunday for horses to be exercised on the outer sand track. Rains have been a regular feature of Bangalore Summer racing but this year, not a single day was affected by rain and racing was held in good going thus far.
