The
Indian Racehorse Owners Federation Annual General Body Meeting will be
held on Tuesday, September 19 at Hotel Goldfinch, in Bangalore. Dr.
Vijay Mallya will chair the meeting.
The meeting, among things, is expected to discuss the statutory
obligations with regard to employment related to maintenance of horses.
Apart from the much-discussed uniform handicapping, the owners’ body is
also to discuss issues to needs to be taken up with the Turf Authorities
of India. The Tirof wants the Turf Authority of India to make it
obligatory on the part of all turf clubs to telecast live, enquiries
conducted with regard to objections and other racing matters.
The Asian Racing Conference will be held in Dubai from January 21 to 25.
The IROA, which is also headed by Dr Mallya, has a session on ownership
during the conference. The meeting is also expected to identify persons
representing the Indian Racehorse Owners Association during the said
workshop.
