The Dr. S.C.Jain Sprinters' Million, the Mumbai racing season's championship sprint race, is being run for the first time as a million race, in this, its 13th running. The race will have prize money of nearly Rs 11 lakhs, and a sterling silver work of art trophy to the winner. The race was instituted by the RWITC in 1995 in honour of one of the Club's longest serving Chairmen, Dr.S.C.Jain.

The race has been won by several champion sprinters, most notably Indiscretion and Blue Horizon, both of whom went on win The Sprinters' Cup (Grade 1)

The Jain family will be presenting exquisite trophies as has been their trademark, and in addition, a watercolor by the renowned equine artist, Sabrina Siga, titled, "and they are off", will be offered in a contest open to the public. The Jains will also present the winning owner a gift of a free portrait of their winning horse from the same artist.

The Indian Navy will be presenting a first time aerial display of helibatics, combat free fall, slithering operations over the Mahalaxmi skies and a performance by the Naval Band, to lend a special flavour to the day.

As a gesture to the members, the Jain family is setting up an on-course studio and will offer members a chance to have themselves photographed professionally and get prints done in traditional sepia or in colour, as a memento or remembrance of the day.
