After being settled at
the rear in the early stages, the five-year old gelding, with 58 kilos on
his back, stormed into the lead with 300 metres left to run and stretched
well for a fluent victory in the Property Weekly Cup, the eighth race of
yesterday’s card at the Nad Al Sheba track. The race was a 1600-metre turf
event for horses rated between 90-105 and was worth US$ 66,000 to the
winner. The Irish bred Hallhoo was second one and a half lengths behind
with Yarqus third.
Ryan Moore rode Mystical who was trained by Ganapathy and carried the
colours of the Poonawalla family.
