The syces at RCTC who went on strike last week, forcing the cancellation
of Friday's races, have called off their agitation on Saturday evening. The stir ended after the syces representatives were given an from trainers that the variable dearness allowance due to them would be cleared on Tuesday. The syces, on their part, have decided to resume their duties from Monday morning and horses will be taken out for morning track work from Monday. With normalcy restored, the Kolkata monsoon season should re-start from Thursday.
