Another Indian success in Korea

May 31, 2006

The four-year old gelding Gobongsan (Local Talent-Asperity by Green Forest), became the fourth Indian bred to win a race in South Korea when he triumphed in a six furlong handicap for foreign breds at the Seoul Racecourse on 14th May.

Bred at the Dashmesh and Hargobind Stud Farm, Gobongsan was exported as an unraced two-year old in 2004. Racing after a six month lay off during which time he was gelded, Gobongsan scored his first victory in nine attempts. This win earned him approximately US $ 12,590 (Rs.5.85 lakhs)

The other Indian horses to have won races in South Korea are Beat It Dude (Procida-Byzara), Bernstein (Local Talent-Secret Diary) and Golden Ball (Inner City-Final Flight).
