STARANZANO WINS GOLCONDA 2000 GUINEAS

The Jaggi Dhariwal trained Staranzano (Burden of Proof-Summer Dust) won the Vijay Textiles Golconda 2000 Guineas (Gr.2) with a start to finish effort at Hyderabad yesterday.
Ridden by Irishman Anthony Whelan, Staranzano led from the start and then quickened well in the straight to win from Supreme General and Polar Force.
Owned by Dr. & Mrs. Vijay Mallya, Staranzano is bred at their Kunigal Stud Farm. Staranzano's sire, Burden of Proof, is well on his way to establishing himself as a top ranking stallion and has now produced five individual classic winners from his very first crop. Staranzano joins Lindsay (Fillies Trial Stakes), Fantabulous King (Kingfisher Derby), Camarioca (Mysore 1000 Guineas) and Full Speed (Mysore Derby & Bangalore 2000 Guineas) as classic winners sired by Burden of Proof.
