24 year old Irishman Colm (pronounced kol-um) O'Donoghue, retained for the winter by Dr. Vijay Mallya, will make his Indian debut at Bangalore today. He will carry the famous black, white and red silks of Dr. Mallya in three races and the combined colours of Dr. Mallya and Sunil Jhangiani in another.

The retained second jockey for the Irish champion trainer Aiden O'Brien, O'Donoghue was the leading apprentice in Ireland and turned professional only a year ago. He has won around 110 races with the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes a couple of years ago as his biggest win.

O'Donoghue will be based in Bangalore during his stay in India and will be seen in action regularly at Mumbai with visits to Hyderabad also on the cards.

O'Donoghue is looking forward to his Indian sojourn and expects to gain a lot of experience from riding in India.
